2020: Discovering French agroforestry
Agroforestry, an agroecological system that is making headway in France
Initially planned for South America, the 2020 expedition ultimately took place in France due to restrictions linked to the COVID 19 pandemic. So did we need to go that far to find agroforestry? No, because even if agroforestry production represents barely 1% of production, there are many different systems in France. From cereals to vines, from fruit trees to market gardening, including livestock, French agroforestry systems are full of diversity. Set off to discover these systems by following the journey of Justine, Benjamin and Lucien!
2021: Eyes towards the Orient
From Albania to Turkey: discovering the agroforestry systems of the Balkans
In 2021, SOA continues its journey but this time, with its eyes turned towards the Orient. Through a journey crossing 8 countries, Louise, Ali, Antoine and Lucas set off to discover an agriculture little known to the French. With a plan to cover more than 15,000 km, this expedition will allow the production of an exclusive documentary of innovative and integrated agroforestry systems in particular pedoclimatic contexts. If the objective is to show their existence and their innovative aspects, the expedition also aims to arouse the desire of several students, apprentices, engineers and researchers to go again to these systems to carry out more complete studies on field !
2022: The new SOA routes
From Bishkek to Beijing: discovering the agroforestry systems of Central Asia
After the success of the SOA expedition in 2021, Clément, Philippine, Eloi, Victor and Thibaut decided to pick up where the 2021 expedition left off, to continue, ever further towards the Orient. Through a journey crossing 4 countries, they will embark on the ancient Silk Roads, a route steeped in history where agricultural goods have continued to circulate for centuries and centuries. This will involve exploring agroforestry systems present in difficult environments where climatic variations go from one extreme to another, creating unstable environments sometimes subject to numerous droughts.
Meet
Our productions are the fruit of testimonies from farmers, scientists, political decision-makers and other actors working for agricultural models.oles sustainable and fair.
